I just don’t agree with you. Not all web standards are EVER adopted, and adoption is often piecemeal and patchy. Acting like Web Components is going to ride in on a white horse any day now… And you think I’m naive…

You calling people “fanboys” because they like a technology is juvenile name-calling. You dismiss them as “fanboys” because you don’t like what they’re a fan of. If the people using React at your current job are inexperienced kids then the problem is your employer, not React. Loads of people use it very effectively in a range of technology levels.

ORMs… yes. Abstractions are powerful and we should use them. Making more maintainable and flexible code is a requirement. Your resistance to this is weird. Your wording about “eternal faith in humanity” is a bizarre response to a technical fact.
