The Web Component standard just… doesn’t seem to have happened. We’ve been talking about it being the standard default way to do markup for nearly a decade. No one does. I’m not holding my breath for wide adoption any time soon.
As for the rest… Honestly I don’t think you could be more wrong. The developers advocating these frameworks do so because they’re useful and powerful ways to build complex software.
As for ORMs… yeah, I was mistaken, you could be more wrong. “ORM fans” are people who are aware of the value of abstractions for making maintainable, scalable software. Nothing at all to do with “not liking SQL” and everything to do with building real software.
